Onder de aanslepende bezetting en genocide organiseren Bulbul Speaks en Antwerp for Palestine voor de derde keer een dag in solidariteit met het Palestijnse volk.

When the Bulbul Stopped Singing is een viering van cultuur en geschiedenis, een aanzet tot actie en een plaats voor rouw. Omdat we geloven dat verzet verbindt, zamelen we geld in voor kleine, lokale doelen. Want schoonheid en vriendschap spreken een taal die de oorlogsmachine niet beheerst.

De dag begint in Rataplan met een programma voor klein en groot vol workshops, eten en verbinding.
Aansluitend voorziet De Roma een avondprogramma met talks, eten, dans en muziek.

Gericht op families met kinderen tussen 3 - 12 jaar.

Alle inkomsten (van de lunch, verkoop op de markt, donaties in Rataplan), gaan via Antwerp for Palestine naar zwaar getroffen gezinnen in Gaza en een medisch centrum in de Al-Mawasi-zone in het zuiden van de Gazastrook.

Als reactie op het gebrek aan kunstonderwijs in het zuiden van Gaza, opent HOPE een academie voor kinderen met interesse en talent voor kunst. De academie wordt gerund door twee lokale kunstenaars en is een plek waar kinderen kunnen groeien en zich ontwikkelen, samenwerken en ideeën uitwisselen. Vandaag ontdek je het werk van deze kinderen.

 

Schuif mee aan, illustratoren vullen het tafelkleed met illustraties van alles wat er tussenin gebeurt en wordt gezegd. Je wordt als tafelgenoot uitgenodigd om de tekening verder aan te vullen, in te kleuren, aan te passen, … Ondertussen ontstaan er open gesprekken, deel je verhalen en nieuwe verbindingen. Tekentafel is een idee en initiatief van Enrica Camporesi.

Bedruk je eigen Bulbul t-shirt, zak, poster, … Breng zelf iets mee waarop je wil zeefdrukken.

Maak een collage van hoop & verdriet. Aan de hand van beeldmateriaal van Palestijnse kunstenaars en fotografen die in Gaza werken, bouw je jouw beeld op en ontdek je het Palestina dat tot op vandaag nog vaak overschaduwd wordt.

Amid the ongoing occupation and genocide, Bulbul Speaks and Antwerp for Palestine are working together for the third time to organise a day of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

‘When the Bulbul Stopped Singing’ is a celebration of culture and history, a call to action and a space for mourning. We believe that resistance unites us, so we are raising funds for small, local causes, because beauty and friendship speak a language that the war machine does not understand.

The day begins in Rataplan with a programme packed with workshops, food and social activtieties, suitable for all ages. Afterwards, De Roma will host an evening programme featuring talks, food, dance and music.

For families with children aged 3–12.

All proceeds (from lunch, market sales and donations at Rataplan) will be dontaed via Antwerp for Palestine to severely affected families in Gaza and a medical centre in the Al-Mawasi area in the south of the Gaza Strip.

In response to the lack of art education in southern Gaza, HOPE is opening an academy for children with an interest in and talent for art. Run by two local artists, the academy is a place where children can grow and develop, collaborate and exchange ideas. Today, you can discover the work of these children. 
 

 Take a seat! Illustrators fill the tablecloth with live drawings of everything that happens and is said during the event. As a fellow diner, you’re invited to add to the drawing, colour it in, adapt it, expand it, and more. Meanwhile, open conversations emerge, stories are shared and new connections are forged. Drawing Table is an initiative by Enrica Camporesi. 

Print your own Bulbul T-shirt, bag, poster, … Bring along a clothing item or (tote) bag you’d like to screen print on.

Create a collage of hope and sorrow. Using visual material by Palestinian artists and photographers working in Gaza, you’ll construct your own image and discover the Palestine that, even today, is often overshadowed.
