Most people know this Antwerp jazz singer with her liquid voice of an old soul, as Frajill.
Together with three passionate musical virtuosos; Jasper De Roeck (bass), Joseph Nowell (keys) and Robbe Broeckx (drums), the singer performs a refreshing mix of poetry and her own compositions. This lyrical performance is inspired by and combined with contemporary and nostalgic pearls of the music scene, including an indispensable touch of soul and blues.
The vocalist and her band strongly believe that being vulnerable does not always have to be compared to a porcelain vase on the edge of a table. Frajill stands for the power of sensitivity and the beauty and celebration of the smallest things in life.
This quartet gives itself completely and in all sincerity, striving for a trance of stillness and togetherness in a sometimes too-rushed society.

I’m excited to present my final concert after five wonderful years studying at the conservatory in Antwerp. I will bring a set in several different genres including gospel, pop, R&B and funk. From Emily King to Tom Misch, from Angie Stone to Bobby Caldwell.

Joining me is a band of musicians that I have played with over the years. Now I have gathered them for this special concert. On the stage with me will be Dilys Cosemans and Clara Segers (backing vocals), Miel De Koninck (keys), Bert Coppens (guitar), Etienne Gijselinckx (bass) and Sam Hinnekens (drums).

I am thrilled to present my latest personal project, a concert that showcases my own compositions. Countless hours have been devoted to preparing a unique set that delves into themes that hold deep significance to me. These include relationships, humanity's role in relation to the environment, and our perspective on the world, among others. Blending elements of folk and jazz, my style draws inspiration from musicians like Melanie De Biasio, Joni Mitchell, Anne Paceo, Camille, and Yael Naim.

 

To bring this musical journey to life, I am joined by an exceptional ensemble:

Sarah Lema, Anke Ludwig, and Yentl Verborgt on backing vocals,

accompanied by Louis Eeckhout on keys, Felix De Clerck on bass, and Robbe Broeckx on drums.
